This is conveying the artist as how she isn't okay with how women are treated by men. In this she is shown in "male" role you can tell this by the miss en scene used as she is dressed in a police officer outfit and usually they are men. Police are shown as disciplined and strong, however this is showing her "cheating" on her partner, however the roles have been swapped in the beginning of the video. It shows how men get away with cheating and whereas women are being treated more harsh.

    This promote the producer

Media language in music videos                                                          29/11/18

L/O: to explore and analyse the use of Media Language in chosen case studies

    • Analyse the Media Language in your music videos. How are they similar/different ?

      • The Vamps - Somebody to you
This music video is a performance video, the artists are performing to the people watching it. The setting and the Miss en Scene is realistic as they are performing on a real beach, and also they are wearing clothes that you would wear to the beach. It follows pop genre conventions as dancing is included, also the colour palette is colourful. Diegetic sound has been used as there is the sound of the waves at the beginning. The editing does match the pace of the song. The narrative is linear and developed as it has a story line, they're trying to impress these girls because they like them. The camera work used is handheld as it moves freely, going close to the people featured in the video. The message is that if you want to be with somebody you have to try and impress them, win them over. It isn't saturation as it isn't black or white and it isn't a 'warm' its more neutral.

      • Little Mix - Black magic
The music video is a narrative and contains parts of performance but not always to the camera.  There are elements of naturalism, as the setting is in a realistic place- a high school.  However the Miss en Scene has parts of naturalism, they are wearing what normal teenager girls wear, but the magic included is not real.  The genre for this video is pop, as it includes dancing and  the colours used are bright- pink, yellow, purple and red. Diegetic sound has been included to create a high school atmosphere.  The editing matches the pace of the song, if there is a beat in in the music it may change to a different scene in the video. The camerawork is mainly infront of the artist and is moving backwards as they are waling closer to it and is handheld. The message for this video is that they can get a man they want if they make an effort (make a potion). There are elements of film/tv conventions as they use promotion, promoting Beats headphones. They have used Propp's character as the boy they are trying to get is seen as the "princess", the blonde girl who is his girlfriend is the "villain" and Little Mix are the "heroes".

                                                                                                                             3/12/18

L/O: to analyse representation in music videos

    • The Vamps - Somebody to you
The sexuality for love assumed in the video is heterosexual - straight , as the boys are trying to get the girls attention. The ideas and values highlighted is being young and free. The race being represented is white English boys. The age being represented is around teenage, this is because they are wearing what any teenager would normally wear, something that was fashionable in that year. Disability is not shown. The stereotypes used are that men/boys are the ones to have feelings first and are the ones who make the first move, trying to impress them. And also that the beach is where most summer romances happen. The artists are presented as average teenage boys. The girls in the bikinis are show as "attractive" and the boys as the girls and boys both likes each other. Message being sent out is when you're young, just have fun and do things with people, because you only have one chance.

    • Little Mix - Black Magic
The sexuality shown is heterosexual.  The ideas it celebrates is that if you be yourself eventually people will like you and accept you for you. There isn't a disability being shown. Stereotyping that school is the place where everyone judges you and one of the places that doesn't really accept people for who they are. And that it is mainly girls who are the ones that are being judged more if they don't follow what everyone else is wearing or not being like them. Boys are also stereotyped for only liking girls for their looks and not their personality. Age represented is teenage girls as they are in a high school and are dressed how teenagers would. Being "attracted" is shown s you have to being popular and wear the most fashionable clothes. Message being sent out is be comfortable with who you are, wether you have to change to feel comfortable

-Explain ONE way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other
-Refer to ONE example of contrasting media language in TWO music videos you have studied to support your answer.

Im going to compare the camera work used in The Vamps music video 'Somebody To You' and Little Mix music video 'Black Magic'.In The Vamps music video the camera work is much more energised as it is mainly handheld, having different angles and shot type.

-Explain ONE way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other
-Refer to ONE example of contrasting media language in TWO music videos you have studied to support your answer.

In the music videos they have used media language to differ from each other. The camera work used in 'Somebody to you' is more free and energised, this is because the camera is mainly handheld. This contrasts to 'Black magic' because the camera work is the classic fixed position shot. The Vamps have given a more edgy and relaxed performance to show how they are represented as a band, whereas Little Mix's is showing more of the life in high school, something that maybe some girls could somehow relate to how they are feeling in the video, this is because their band is aimed for young teen girls.

L/O: to analyse the structure of the Live Lounge & the audience appeal

    Benefit of having two channels?
    - Being hosted by Radio 1 and 1Xtra allows to be broadcast across two of the radio platforms- either to a more niche audience or enabling a wider audience for a band.

    Clara Amfo-
She started as a presenter for Nickelodeon and CBBC
She started off as a marketing intern at KISS FM, then started presenting the overnight show, then joined BBC radio 1Xtra in 2013, as host of the weekend breakfast show, then hired as the host of MTV's weekly official UK top 40, the 2015 host of The Official Chart on  BBC Radio 1, and later went on to host there live lounge
In 2012 she was nominated for a Sony Radio Award in the "Rising Star" category.

    DJ Ace-
Ace and Vis, a.k.a. The Troublemakers of Radio, are radio DJs and television presenters from south-east London. They met whilst studying at the BRIT school in London.
Known as Ace and Invisible (Vis), after winning a gold Sony Radio Academy Award for their lunchtime show on BBC Radio 1Xtra in 2004, the two later co-presented BBC Radio 1Xrta's drivetime show from 4 to 7 pm on weekdays, before moving to the 4 to 7 pm weekend slot. They left BBC Radio 1Xrta in September 2012.Ace
to Radio 1Xtra in 2014 to cover various weekend programmes. In May 2015 Ace officially re-joined 1Xtra to present weekend breakfast from 6 to 10 am. Following Trevor Nelson's move to weekend afternoons in January 2016, Ace became the new host of 1Xtra's Live Lounge - weekdays 10 am – 1 pm.

    How it works....
Artists normally perform one or two of their own songs then perform a cover song that is a contrast to their known genre.
    Why it works....
The audience appeal of The Live Lounge is that they get a large variety of artists on it, this will attract a wider audience. There is also loads of platforms it streams on. And also that the artists play acoustically and live shows how they actually sound, the cover will appeal because it will be completely new, no one would have heard the artist singing that song. This is different to other radio shows because it performs a range of genres where other radios mainly do one genre of music and target smaller audiences. That it has new up coming music.

    Convergence
From the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Website you can access the different platforms BBC has for example you can access weather, news, player etc. Direct links to both radio 1 and 1Xtra, videos, photographic galleries and a summary of the Live Lounge Month.

Genre Conventions - shows good understanding

Target Audience - Need more work on the psychographics but good infographic

      Analysis - good first attempt
DIRT: Be careful, as well as saying what it 'shows' about the magazine, make sure you explain why this will appeal to the target audience
