Preparing your interview


  • Prepare questions that cover the 5 w's
  • Don't ask closed questions
  • Stay quiet
  • Positive gestures and body language  (smile)
  • Listen to what they're saying

Questions about Biggest achievement:

Intro: "Hi, this is Katherine reporting for BBC School report and I am joined here with..... who is going to be talking to us about....."

  1. What was the biggest achievement you've had?
  2. How old were you when  this happened?
  3. When did you achieve it and how?
  4. Where was it that you managed to achieve it ?
  5. Why did you decide to achieve it?
Questions about worst accident

  1. What was the worst accident you have had?
  2. Where was this and when?
  3. How old were you when this happened?
  4. What did you think cause the accident?
  5. Why do you think this happened? 
What went well?

I remembered the questions and managed to film without any problems. I managed to use questions using the 5 w's

How can i improve ?

I can improve interviewing people by having questions that have longer answers and ones that give lots of information.

  1. Some great notes and questions. Target:
    1) Check and change any punctuation errors e.g. your use of capital letters on your first list (some have capitals some don't - you need to go with one or the other) and also you must make sure you use capitals for headings/sub headings and the letter 'I.'
